The Civics Academy is a School for Advanced Studies (SAS) program with an interdisciplinary academic approach that integrates the existing English and History curriculum with Civic Education themes. It examines issues from across the curriculum with a focused, coherent, central theme of Citizenship. The success of the program lies within the student-centered activities and participation in discussions on topics of relevance and importance. Academy-elected student officials run council meetings according to Robert’s Rules of Order, as these “Civic Thinkers” examine the world around them.
